Effects of birth-rearing type on weaning weights in meat sheep are systematically associated with differences in mean performance among flocks.

Both additive and multiplicative adjustments to correct weights of lambs born and reared as single lambs to a twin-lamb basis were larger for yearling, 2-year-old, and aged dams than for adult dams (Table 3 ), but, in general, differences among additive factors were only marginally significant (e.g., P = 0.05 for 2-year-old versus adult dams) and differences among dam age classes in multiplicative factors were at most equal to 0.04.
