The level of copeptin was higher in patients who had undergone a bowel resection ( n = 12) compared with the non-resected ( n = 6, missing value = 4), although it did not reach statistical significance in the small cohort [11.46 (8.33–19.08) and 7.42 (5.68–14.44), respectively, P = 0.291].
