showed a trend towards slightly higher serum TSH levels in women with thyroid autoimmunity in the first trimester of pregnancy compared to women without thyroid autoimmunity and that women with asymptomatic autoimmune thyroid disease who were euthyroid in early pregnancy carried a significant risk of developing hypothyroidism progressively during gestation, despite a marked reduction in antibody titers [ 11 ].
