Contact with another player accounted for a higher number of injuries compared with a non-contact mechanism (W = 131, P < .001) ( Figure 2E ), and there was a clear trend of increasing injury incidence per 1000 hours of exposure time with increasing age, which peaked in the <15-year age group ( Figure 2B ).
