One retrospective case-control study found that inhaled LABAs decreased all-cause mortality in COPD (OR 0.92, 95% CI 0.88 to 0.96) and that there was a trend toward a benefit in terms of cardiovascular deaths (OR 0.97, 95% CI 0.84 to 1.11), although this effect did not reach statistical significance [ 54 ].
