Second, our data showed a trend toward higher rate of mortality in subjects with the GG genotype than in those with the GA and AA genotypes, but the hazard ratio was not as high as for CVD mortality, and only reached the statistical significance after adjusting for age, sex, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, and LDL cholesterol.
