The coulombic efficiency (CE) of the system was lower as compared to the values reported in literature due to the toxic nature of the azo-dye [ 20 , 25 ].The highest coulombic efficiency of 10.36%was obtained for 200 ppm of ANB( Fig 3B ), which is slightly lower than the value reported by Bakhshian et al.[ 20 ] but much higher than the values reported by Zhang et al.[ 39 ].The toxic effects are quite significant at higher concentrations of ANB (e.g. 400 ppm) resulting in to lower CE value.
