Additionally, we found that the induction of cell death was partially sensitive to caspase inhibition, as treatment of cells with the pan-caspase inhibitor zVAD-fmk was sufficient to block Unc93b induced morphological changes associated with cell death and caused a mild reduction in PI- and Annexin V-positive cells that did not reach statistical significance ( Fig 1F, 1G and 1H ).
