Key genes for NED were clearly altered by SNAI2-siRNA treatment since the expression of CHGA was completely abolished and that of Enolase 2 ( ENO2 ) significantly ( p < 0.05) decreased, as revealed by real-time RT-PCR analyses (53%), and confirmed at protein level by Western Blotting (Figure 4 ), while the expression of synaptophysin ( SYP ) and neurogenic differentiation factor 1 ( NeuroD1 ) only showed a trend towards down-regulation (not shown).
