Injured patients at admission had significantly higher levels of EMVs, RMVs, LMVs, and TFMVs, while PMV and AVMV levels were lower but failed to reach statistical significance, most likely as a result of the high variance in the patient cohort ( Table II ), confirming our previous results ( 14 ).
