There was a higher incidence of transfusions and a larger bleeding volume in the ticagrelor group when the platelet inhibitor was discontinued within 24 h before surgery ( Table 4 ), even if the difference in the incidence of major bleeding complications according to the BARC-CABG definition did not reach statistical significance (38 vs. 31%).
