Comparison of these by the use of Cox regression analysis adjusted for age showed a trend for higher mortality with C. albicans than with C. glabrata (p 0.260) ( Fig. 2 a), and, after adjustment for catheter line removal from patients ( n = 42), showed a significant difference between these curves ( Fig. 2 b; p 0.048, HR 3.4, 95% CI 0.99–11.47).
