These results did not provide a clear trend about non-achievement, but align with previous research reporting that children of parents in the lower educational group are likely to be higher screen-viewers ( Hoyos Cillero and Jago, 2010 ), which has been related to less parental screen-viewing rules, and greater access to media sources ( Carlson et al., 2010 ).
