We found that vitamin D was an independent prognostic biomarker in relation to total mortality and cardiac death in the Argentinean population, whereas in the Norwegian population its prognostic utility was less evident, but with a clear trend supporting the findings obtained in the Argentinean study ( 9 , 10 ).
