Although weight loss alone may be insufficient for maintaining skin disease remission in obese patients with psoriasis [ 55 ], some recent intervention trials have demonstrated that treatment with a low-energy diet showed a trend towards significant improvement in PASI scores among overweight or obese patients with psoriasis, and that body weight reduction in psoriatic patients receiving either low-dose cyclosporine or biologics increased the efficacy of these drugs [ 56 , 57 , 58 ].
