The safety results reported in that study were also quite significant: the rates of major bleeding were 0.5%, 0.2%, and 0.1%, respectively, in the placebo, apixaban 2.5 mg, and apixaban 5 mg groups, whereas the rates of minor bleeding were 2.3%, 3.0%, and 4.2%.
