The finding of a (almost significant) trend towards a larger decrease of haemoglobin within 72 h postpartum and a higher frequency of red blood cell transfusions in the infusion group is supporting the impression of a higher blood loss in the infusion group, even though in further investigations the blood loss should be measured, not estimated.
