Strikingly, the X chromosome dominated the contribution of sex-biased genes, having 105 (27% of expressed X genes) significantly higher expressed in female cells but only 7 (1.8% of expressed X genes) higher in male cells, and intriguingly, there was a clear trend of gradual decrease of the female X chromosome overexpression from E4 to E7 ( Figure S4 F).
