(Although binding at centromeres tended to be slightly elevated in TEFp-YCG1 cells, the data did not reach statistical significance, and a modest reduction in binding to the rDNA was observed.) The second conclusion from these data is that although Brn1 bound to the rDNA, centromeres, and a telomere in metaphase, binding at each of these sites was reduced to background levels in both wild-type and TEFp-YCG1 strains that were arrested in G1 ( Fig 8B ).
