Prokinetic agents did not prevent feeding intolerance in patients without gastroparesis (RR 0.62, 95 % CI 0.31, 1.22, P = 0.16), but did reduce feeding intolerance in those with pre-existing gastroparesis (RR 0.70, 95 % CI 0.52, 0.96; P = 0.03), however, the interaction test did not reach statistical significance (Additional file 1 : Figure S8).
