While some subgroups failed to reach statistical significance for peginterferon beta-1a versus placebo (as indicated by 95 % CI for rate ratios crossing 1), this tended to be in smaller subgroups which exhibited a higher degree of variability, and so may be related to reduced statistical power in small subgroups.
