Cardiac MRI performed 4 weeks after IR injury showed that treatment with pitavastatin-NP (16 mg/body of pitavastatin) tended towards an improvement in the left ventricular ejection fraction, although these results did not reach statistical significance: 50.1 ± 5.0% in the pitavastatin-NP group and 41.8 ± 9.3% in the saline group (P = 0.064, n = 6–7 each) ( Table 1 , Fig 2A ).
