Similarly, individuals who were high responders for IgG3 to PfRH5 had a 65% decreased risk of symptomatic falciparum malaria compared to those who were classified as low responders, after adjustment for confounders; there was also a reduced risk of malaria for high IgG1 responders, but this did not reach statistical significance (IgG3: aHR 0.35, CI: 0.17–0.71, p = 0.03; and IgG1 aHR 0.46, CI: 0.16–1.29, p = 0.14) ( Table 2 ).
