The sentences
The reason for this drop is not clear but may be related to the higher median Ct value (23) and lower malaria parasite coinfection rate (3%), compared with previous months, and to the initiation of the JIKI trial in Guéckédou during this period, which showed a trend toward efficacy of favipiravir in patients with a Ct of ≥20 [ 13 ].
