D4Z4-2.5 muscle at day 4 of regeneration showed a significant increase in DUX4 levels ( n =3 mice) and approached significance at day 5 ( Fig. 1 C), with control genes Pax7 , Myod and Myog generally higher than in undamaged muscle, as expected.
