Wall motion abnormalities and MPI abnormalities were more frequent in the diabetic group as compared to pre-diabetics but the differences did not reach statistical significance. Our small study population and an even smaller number of pre-diabetics preclude any meaningful discussion on the relative importance of pre-diabetes as opposed to diabetes with regard to the occurrence of asymptomatic ischemia.
