Table 3 shows that in the univariate analysis, overweight participants were 1.7 times as likely to become TB infected as those of normal weight (HR 1.71; 95% CI 1.54–1.90; p <0.001) but that when we adjusted for potential confounders, the difference did not reach statistical significance (HR 1.09; 95% CI 0.95–1.24).
