When the long‐term trials were pooled by treatment group, no significant differences in the rates of AEs, SAEs, or treatment‐related AE/SAE discontinuations were seen between treatment groups, with the exception of treatment‐related AE/SAE discontinuations in the atorvastatin 80‐mg vs 10‐mg group (Table 3 ; P = 0.011); the corresponding atorvastatin 80‐mg vs placebo treatment difference did not reach statistical significance (Table 3 ; P = 0.200).
