This finding is consistent with the study of Eloot et al that showed a trend of decreasing unbound percentage of IS in CKD subjects with the progression of chronic renal failure. 15 A crude estimation from their data reveals the unbound percentage of IS is 21.3% for stage II, 11.5% for stage III, 8.7% for stage IV, and 6.5% for stage V CKD.
