Application of UTP (100 μM) following activation by pinacidil caused a marked reduction in K ATP current when the pipette solution contained 100 nM free Ca 2+ , but, similar to the case with K v currents, UTP inhibition was much less and did not reach statistical significance when the pipette contained only 20 nM free Ca 2+ ( Fig. 5 ).
