Effect of metformin and rutin on serum testosterone, progesterone and estradiol values Administration of letrozole to female rats for 36 days resulted in a highly significant increase in the serum testosterone as compared with the control ( P < 0.001) while the metformin, rutin-I (100 mg/kg) and rutin-II (150 mg/kg) exhibited a moderately significant decrease ( P < 0.01) in comparison with the PCOS group but remained non-significant when compared with the control group.
