In our data, baseline bilirubin, which showed a trend of inverse association with MetS incidence in women of our data and has been consistently proposed as a protective factor of MetS [ 1 , 6 ], was negatively correlated with bilirubin change and PCB while PCB showed a statistically significant association with incident MetS.
