The overall sensitivity of the CMV antigenemia assay was 66% (95% confidence interval [CI], 50–80%) ( Table 2 ), showing a tendency to be higher in the HIV-infected patients (85% [11/13]) than in the HIV-uninfected patients (58% [18/31]), but this effect did not reach statistical significance ( P = 0.16).
