9 , 10 A pilot study (CLEAR) assessing this contractility sensor within the right ventricular lead of a CRT-pacemaker implant showed a trend to improvement in clinical outcomes. 8 Built off this preliminary data, a new dedicated right atrial lead with an embedded sealed sensor was evaluated in this large, prospective, double-blind, randomized non-inferiority clinical trial in patients eligible for implantation of a CRT-D device. 11 The RESPOND-CRT study investigated the safety and efficacy of the contractility sensor system in HF patients undergoing CRT.
