However, among the HbE males, the Hb level in the G6PD-normal group (128.8±9.9 g/L, n = 8) was higher than in the G6PD-deficient group (115.8±13.6 g/L, n = 12), but the difference did not reach statistical significance ( P > 0.05, Mann-Whitney test, Fig 2D ).
