On comparing the magnitudes of invariance, however, we found that view invariance was slightly weaker for silhouettes compared with natural objects, but this difference did not reach statistical significance (average view invariance across all neurons: 0.30 and 0.24 for upright and silhouette, P = 0.07, Wilcoxon signed-rank test; Fig. 2 C ).
