Length of hamstring-tendon injury was longer in those who acquired a reinjury; however, this did not reach statistical significance, likely secondary to being underpowered. de Vos et al studied the effect of clinical findings and MRI findings in reinjury in 64 patients with acute hamstring injuries. 11 Such clinical findings as number of prior hamstring injuries, knee-extension deficit, decrease in knee-flexion force, and localized palpation discomfort following injury were associated with increased reinjury rate.
