Although replication analysis did not show a statistically significant P -value for the association between rs10490924 and additional treatment ( P = 0.14), the odds ratio showed the same direction as did the discovery stage, suggesting that the P -value did not reach statistical significance owing to the small sample size, and pooled analysis of the discovery- and replication-stage data showed a strong association between rs10490924 and additional treatment necessity (P = 0.0013, Table 2 ).
