For free asparagine in the 2011–2012 trial, the full interaction between variety nested in type and treatment was of marginal significance (p = 0.062, F-test) and therefore important for investigation, but with there being considerable variation due to variety within type (p < 0.001, F-test, for the variety within type ANOVA term) and a main effect of treatment (p = 0.040, F-test).
