Metabolic syndrome and NTproBNP The presence of metabolic syndrome increased the OR of having NTproBNP values above median levels (Table 3 , Model 3) and there was a significant trend of increasing OR through classes of metabolic abnormalities, with the lowest OR observed in people who did not have either diabetes or metabolic syndrome and the highest OR in people having both.
