Total predation during the early milky ripening stage (mean = 37.8% per day, SD = 9.0% per day, n = 11) was significantly higher than any other phases (Tukey's t test, p < .001–.05) excluding maize ripening, which was only marginally significant (Tukey's t test, p < .1).
