5 , 8 A population‐based epidemiologic survey also found a strong association of nocturia with depression in both men and women, with a significant trend in increased odds of depression with more voids nightly. 13 The magnitude of this association was larger in younger age groups, especially among women aged <50 years. 13 Nocturia (≥2 voids per night) has been found to increase the mortality risk by 54% in men (hazard ratio [HR] 1.54, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.18‐2.00) and by 28% in women (HR 1.28, 95% CI 1.04‐1.57). 29 Interestingly, the magnitude of the association was greater in men and women <65 years.
