Following differentiation, the neurospheres cultured in the presence of 1 mM histamine showed a trend towards more neuronal lineage differentiation (control: 24.8 ± 4.2 vs 1 mM histamine: 29.7 ± 5.3% β-III-tubulin + neurons), whereas the neurospheres grown in the presence of both chlorpheniramine and cimetidine generated significantly fewer neurons upon differentiation (chlorpheniramine: 6.7 ± 2.2 and cimetidine: 8.6 ± 2.2% β-III-tubulin + neurons, p < 0.05; Fig. 6C ).
