Upon the comparison of the two datasets, several genes were detected where mutations segregated among CS and non-CS patients; however, due to inevitably small numbers of patients included, the differences did not reach statistical significance. copCD operon was inactivated in every CS patient but one (7/8; 88%) by independent deletions or IS insertions, these events were biased towards late isolates ( S2 Fig ).
