A primary tumor gene expression signature identifies a crucial role played by tumor stroma myofibroblasts in lymph node involvement in oral squamous cell carcinoma.

A total of 41 genes were differentially expressed when fixing the fold change barrier to ±2 at a nominally significant p-value (p < 0.05) and remained significant after correcting for multiple testing (FDR < 0.05): 19 genes were expressed at higher levels and 22 gene were expressed at a lower level in tumor specimens from OSCC patients with lymph node involvement (Table 1 ).
