Spearman correlation test showed that there was a close and highly significant relationship between serum level of B1R with histological staining of B1R in stroke patients (r=0.54, P<0.001) ( Fig. 4A ), TIA (r=0.81, P<0.001) and asymptomatic patients (r=0.61, P<0.001), suggesting of a notable correlation between changes in serum B1R level and changes in plaques in the progression of atherosclerotic plaques.
