Among the 19 genes dysregulated in type 2 diabetic islets, ARG2 and PPP1R1A were also differentially expressed in non-diabetic OD islets exposed ex vivo to high glucose (22.2 mmol/l) for 48 h, while CHL1 , FBX032 and SLC2A2 showed a trend towards dysregulation (ESM Table 9 ).
