As the concentration of Eu in the La x Eu 1−x B 6 reaction is increased there is a clear trend of increasing amounts of B relative to M until the system becomes stoichiometric with EuB 6 (86% B or x = 1; Figure 2 B), with a slightly higher Eu content in La x Eu 1−x B 6 than was expected with x < 1 ( Figure 2 C).
