The same regressions as above indicated that (1) days-at-school was a better predictor when pitted against age (respectively, p = 0.04 and p = 0.70, r 2 = 24%); and (2) none of the above 4 cognitive variables were better predictors than days-at-school although backward digit span approached significance ( p = .07); and (3) the same conclusion was reached when reading speed was pitted against days-at-school (respectively, p = 0.88 and p = 0.02; r 2 = 24%).
