3.2 Spatial timing of influenza epidemics The analysis of spatial spread of epidemics (Table 3 ) revealed that there were significant or nearly significant geographical gradients according to the country longitude only in half of the seasons in the Middle East and North Africa region: in the east‐to‐west direction in 2012‐2013 and 2015‐2016, and in the west‐to‐east direction in 2014‐2015.
